DAY THREE

Photo: Cathy @ luvmyboat.com

The Bay Regatta is all over for another year. Prize giving went off without a hitch, the crowd loving such a grand finale. Three days of 10-20 knot breezes, and yachting skills from top international boats and racing personalities in A Division to local and visiting cruising boats in the Passage Divisions.

The final race day has been a perfect finish to three days of superb competition, 10 – 25 knot breezes, a Beach Party to remember; skilful tactics on the water and loads of laughter.

Ray Haslar, Chairman of the Bay of islands Sailing Week Committee sincerely thanked loyal and generous sponsors, then presented the Spot Prizes:

  1. Round Trip Air to Noumea on Air Calin, two nights’ accommodation at Le Parc Hotel donated by GLP Hotels, and transportation from New Caledonia Tourism.
  2. Cruising Charter Holidays donated by Great Escape Charters and Cotton Blossom Charters, our loyal local charter businesses in the Bay of Islands. We are privileged to have them as part of the Bay Regatta.

Melanie MacDiarmid (Race Organizer) and Murray Walbran, our major sponsor (CRC), presented the Regatta Prizes, beautifully created by Romeyn Carvings; a crew member and his daughter accepted the well earned prizes for Murray’s yacht, Cruise Control.

What a great Regatta, it just gets better each year. Join us in 2011 for Bay of Islands Sailing week.
