The racing is over – it’s time for skippers and crew to reflect on the past four days, some to celebrate, some to commiserate, but always to appreciate yet another learning curve. And even more important – everyone had a good time.
DELIGHTED CREW FROM ICEBREAKER
Paddy Sims Race Officer from Taipa Sailing Club said “we’ve had good quality and competent racing this year, none of that ‘follow the leader stuff’ – and we’ll work on getting more Northland boats to join in next year”.
The New Zealand yachting fraternity needs these regattas to retain the high reputation we have in sailing communities worldwide.
Prize giving was a hoot – photos will be available to view in the gallery later today.
Ice Breaker took home the cream-on-the-cake with First Prize in IRC Division. As you can see – a VERY happy crew.
Ray Haslar, chairman of Bay of Islands Sailing Week says “A big thank you to all the competitors – a big thank you to Sponsors and the many volunteers. It takes this team to make the Regatta a happening- thing. We hope to see you all again in 2013”
